EBF Level coaching course announced

We are pleased to announce that we are going to be hosting a L1 EBF coaching course between Wednesday 13th August and Saturday 16th August (likely to be Hollywood Bowl Worthing). If you haven't already registered your intent with Kirstie please email [email protected]. This is now open to all BTBA members. We shall soon be confirming this course and are still requesting interested parties to get in contact. Costs are between £270-£350 depending on the number of students. This course will be hosted by Mark Heathorn.
The Level I coaching program is for coaches who will coach beginner bowlers and children. It is important for the development of bowling in all countries, as those coaches will assist people interested in the sport of bowling and create a foundation for new bowlers. Level I coaches can also assist Level II and III coaches. There is no prerequisite for Level I. Focus of Level I program is the foundation of bowling. Coaches must complete 150 hours of coaching post clinic to be qualified as ETBF certified Level I Coach. For more information please click here.

Diamond 4s entry now open

The Sussex Tenpin Bowling Association is bringing back the popular diamond 4s tournament that was last run in 2015.

This year we will be changing things up. This event will be a combination of singles, scotch doubles, baker trios and team of 4.

Tenpin Toolkit win the Mixed Category Trios

Congratulations to Oliver Stroud, Simon Kimber and Simon Stroud for becoming the 2025 Mixed Category Trios Champions.

Rolling Thunder consisting of Suzanne Law, Kevin Howson and Vicky Knightsbridge were runners up and Pocket Rockets; Ben Dawson, Len Sampson and Rhiannon Sowdon finished in 3rd.

Thank you to everyone that bowled, hosted and supported this event. Thank you to RBS Pro-shops for suppling the bowling ball that was raffled to raise money for the association. Click here for full results.

Senior Men's Team News

Members of our Senior Men's Team, teamed up to bowl the Senior National Championships together last weekend.

Stuart Rushton 48th all events / 17th singles
Dean Morgen 29th all events / 42nd singles
Jeff Campbell 57th all events / 74th singles
Kevin Rose 41st all events / 45th singles

Tickets are not sold separately.
The prize is a bowling ball of the winner’s choice.
Ball choice is subject to suppliers’ stock and availability.
Prize must be chosen within 14 days of the draw.
Draw date will be Wednesday 28th May 2025 during Mixed Trios event.
Tickets can be purchased in person.

Drilling is not included.

Our first tournament of 2025 starts today

Today is the day, we start with a Sussex Classic tournament INIT2WINIT handicapped re-entry doubles.

We have 3 team spaces for tonight and you can register between 1930-1945 tonight. If you fancy a share of £522 what are you waiting for? You have to be in it to win it.

Sussex Needs YOU!!

Created for the 2025 season, the Southern Local Association Touring League will enable all bowlers who trialed for their county that year to bowl competitively against other counties in the southern region.

This league gives the opportunity for bowlers to wear their county shirt even if they have not been chosen for the county events. Bowlers must have bowled the county trials to be eligible, for full rules, click here.

You do not have to bowl every event and all categories are welcome, please email us at [email protected] to register your interest to play.
