Southern Local Associations Touring League (S.L.A.T)

This event shall promote the sport of tenpin bowling and incorporating Association team bowling, giving more opportunities to bowl for Sussex even if not selected to bowl for the ICC qualifying rounds and finals. This is an opportunity for bowlers who have participated in the Sussex area trials (for the respective year) to participate in a friendly but competitive series of events representing Sussex. This league will be for the Associations under the jurisdiction of the Southern Regional Officer (SRO). Fixtures will take place within the following counties: Bedfordshire, Essex, Hampshire, Kent, London, Middlesex, Surrey, Sussex and it is intended that each association will hold one event within a two-year period.

The inaugural season shall commence on 4th May at Rochester. The remaining dates will be as follows: Round 2 – 6th July at Maidson Heights Round 3 – 17th August at Crawley Round 4 - 28th September at Eastleigh.

Lane patterns for all events, will be Bourbon Street, subject to the host venue’s capabilities and will be published prior to the event, if available.

Membership of the Sussex SLAT team shall be open to any bowler who has competed in the most recent Sussex ICC trials. Each rounds team will need to have a minimum of five bowlers registered, one of which must be female. At least one female must be included in the team every game. Teams can be formed from each of the various different age categories Under 13, Under 16, Under 22, Open, Senior and Super Senior. Team England wildcards (who have not competed in the association’s ICC trials) will still be eligible to compete in the SLAT.
