Daren Knightsbridge
Chairman, Open Ladies Manager and Social Media Communications Officer.
Competing since 2015, I bring a wealth of experience both on and off the lanes. As a graduate of the Kegel Coaching Master’s Program and a Bronze USBC Certified Coach, I work with bowlers of all standards to help them elevate their game.
For the past three years, I have proudly coached Team England, supporting elite athletes on the national stage while continuing to compete on the Tenpin Tour and represent the Sussex Senior Men’s Team.
Alongside performance and coaching, I also serve as Secretary of the Gatwick Tri-Stars League, playing an active role in developing and supporting the sport at grassroots level.
Whether competing, coaching, or organising, I’m fully committed to raising standards and helping tenpin bowling thrive.

Kirstie Western
Secretary and Senior Men Manager
Bowling makes me happy, and I do these roles within the STBA because helping promote, encourage, and build the sport with the support of the team around me, also makes me happy. Bowling is for all, whoever you are, and the inclusivity of it is something to celebrate and share and I enjoy being able to do this within both of my jobs.

Andie Burt
Vice Chairman, Open Men Manager and Worthing Centre Representative
I have had the honour of bowling not only in the UK but also abroad, meeting many amazing fellow bowlers, professionals and organisers whilst gaining decades of experience.
I now have the pleasure of being able to assist promote support and celebrate our fantastic Sussex bowlers.

Kevin Rose
Treasurer
I started competitive bowling with my wife once our kids had grown up and subsequently took a coaching course and helped with the YBC.
I am part of the BTBA Tenpin Tour management team; a bowling tour for the over 50s consisting of nine country wide events during the year. I’m also the treasurer of the BTBA and have worked with figures all my working life.

Simon Kimber
U13 Manager
As a bowler for over 20 years, and a coach for more than 10, I’m passionate about developing and growing our sport.
Since creating the Tenpin Toolkit app I’ve had the opportunity to help bowlers all over the world, and I try to use that success to give back to the sport, from sponsoring PBA & PWBA pros, charity events like Striking Against Breast Cancer in Houston, Texas, supporting the STBA and contributing to the training and development of new coaches in the area.
In 2025 I took on the role of President and Head Coach at Crawley YBC and am proud to have played a part in growing the club from something that we thought might fold after Covid, into a thriving club and bowling community.
Later in 2025 I was honoured to be presented with the BTBA Chairman’s Award for outstanding contribution to the sport of ten pin bowling.

Ryan Mitchener
U16 Manager
The team always comes first, built of encouraging, understanding and pro-active members! I've been bowling for 20 years now, starting at Aldershot YBC as a skinny quiet shy kid... how that changed! Had a very successful 'Youth Bowling Career', never quite managing to win the Youth ranking system for the year (2nd and 3rd back to back years), but picking up titles on the way in both singles and team tournaments. My proudest achievement was bowling Triple Crown for England and coming away with 2 x Golds and 1 x Bronze. After taking a period away from bowling, I've fully immersed myself back into bowling in Sussex and I've certainly got the bug again. Most notable achievement to date, winning the Sussex 2026 County Trials! Having bowled for Hampshire and Essex, I've been living in Sussex for 9 years and am a proud Sussex team member, excited to use my knowledge and love for County bowling to the best of my ability My passion and personality suit the team bowling environment the best, and I hope to use my enthusiasm and experience to create a fun, energetic and positive county bowling experience for everyone - let's go Sussex!"

Aaron Mitchell
U22 Manager
It feels good to be giving back to the sport that has given me so much.
I took up bowling from a young age, joining Crawley YBC at the age of 6. I have since gone on to represent the YBC at junior level, continued to develop my game and play my role in numerous Sussex teams.
The highest accolade has to be taking the High Doubles Series Scratch at Crawley with my brother Luke, 1571, we hope that will be there for years to come. Yes that's a challenge as we also hold the 2nd spot.
In addition being Vice President for Crawley YBC is incredible, being able to be involved and help the YBC grow is a privilege.
Currently bowling in the Tri Stars Trios league has really excelled my game further & I've found myself learning more, developing my skills on and off the lanes which I aim to bring to the Sussex U22's management position.
I look forward to managing this group of talented bowlers & continuing our improvements year on year.

Elaine Davey
Senior Ladies Manager
I have been a passionate bowler since my junior years.
Over this time, I have had the privilege of representing both London and Sussex in the Adult and Senior Inter-Counties competitions and have been part of winning teams with London Senior Ladies and Sussex Senior Ladies.
I was honoured to take on the role of Senior Ladies Manager after being voted in at the AGM 2 years ago.
Since taking on the role, I have focused on a more organised, communicative, and positive environment to help the team thrive, with practice sessions and proactive steps to bond the team.
In my dual role as a player-manager, I am able to support the team directly on the lanes, boosting morale and encouraging our players. This is especially important to help familiarise any new team members to the ICC, and the four-person team format.
I bowl in doubles and trios leagues 3 times a week, participate in the Senior Tenpin Tour, (singles) and the Southern Scratch League (5-man team).
I also bowl in other countries in some of the ISBT and Spanish competitions

Vicky Knightsbridge
Grand Senior Manager
I took up bowling in my 30's and quickly became deeply involved in the sport. I help to run the Gatwick Tristars League at Crawley and, in 2024, became Head of Equality and Diversity at the BTBA, promoting inclusion across bowling. In 2025, I gained my EBF Level 1 coaching qualification and now coach at Crawley YBC, while also representing Sussex in various competitions.

Trevor Hammond-Thayre
Crawley Representative
Over 30 years working in the bowling industry nationally but mainly in the south east.
I've always said, when it comes to actual bowling, I only bowl because of the bowlers, but, I could sit back (or stand) and simply watch bowling all day.

Charlotte Winbolt
Crawley YBC Representative
Although I’m not a bowler myself , I’ve grown up around the sport thanks to my mum and sister, so it’s always been part of my life. Today, my connection is even stronger through my two children, who both bowl at Crawley YBC, and through my role as Club Secretary.
I’m passionate about the positive impact tenpin bowling has on young people. Beyond the sport itself, I value the way it nurtures etiquette, sportsmanship, and genuine kindness towards others. The sense of community it creates has been incredibly important for both me and my children.
I’m proud to represent Crawley YBC and, most importantly, to be a voice for our young bowlers on the Sussex committee.
